Trivia Friday: 30+ Homers For Mets And Yankees

With the Mets obtaining Robinson Cano, they are hoping they are getting a game changing bat to hit in the middle of the lineup. If he is that, we should be hitting 20+ homers both this year and in the ensuing years. After hitting 204 homers for the Yankees, he would become the fifth player to hit 30+ homers for both the Mets and the Yankees. Can you name the four who have done it?  Good luck!

Trivia Friday: Mets Homegrown Opening Day Starters

Due to a back strain and the team wanting to be cautious with their ace, Jacob deGrom gave way to Noah Syndergaard as last year’s Opening Day starter. Unless the team’s handling of deGrom’s extension spills over into the regular season, deGrom will be the eighth Mets player drafted by the team to make an Opening Day start.

Can you name the other seven?  Good luck!

Trivia Friday: Players With Numbers Retired By Multiple Teams

Sadly, Frank Robinson passed away yesterday. He was one of the greatest figures in Major League history becoming the first and only player to win an MVP award in both leagues and becoming the first ever African American to manage a Major League team. Robinson is also only one of 10 Major League players who has had his number retired by two teams.

Can you name all 10 players?  Good luck!

Trivia Friday: 2015 Mets Still With The Organization

The Mets have had a significant amount of turnover since they appeared in the 2015 World Series. Just this offseason, the Mets have seen Wilmer Flores leave. With him gone, there are just ten players remaining from the 2015 Mets who are still with the organization. Can you name who they are? Good luck!

Trivia Friday: Mets Best Outfielders

Interestingly, the Mets are opting to go into next season with just two everyday outfielders and three question marks. The hope is that one of those options like Jeff McNeil will take advantage of the opportunity and run with it. If so, we can see that player along with Brandon Nimmo and Michael Conforto make a real run at being one of the top 10 Mets outfielders of all-time.

Can you name the top 10 Mets outfielders in history?  Good luck!

Trivia Friday: Mets Best Switch Hitters

With the Jed Lowrie acquisition yesterday, the Mets made themselves deeper and more versatile.  More than that, they added a switch hitter to the lineup who should help them Mets against right-handed and left-handed pitchers. Over the last two years, Lowrie has been a 121 wRC+. If he is able to maintain that level of production, he will be one of the best switch hitters in Mets history.

Can you name the best switch hitters in Mets history?  Good luck!

Trivia Friday: Closers Who Led Both Leagues In Saves

With the Mets obtaining Edwin Diaz, the team is hoping he can repeat his 2018 performance and amongst other things lead the league in saves. That is something which is easier said than done as it is a feat which has been done by just six other closers in MLB history.

Can you name the closers who have led both leagues in saves? Good luck!

Trivia Friday: Ballparks Where Mets Have A Winning Record

With the Mets having had consecutive losing seasons, and the team being under .500 in eight of the past 10 seasons, Brodie Van Wagenen has added Robinson Cano, Edwin Diaz, Jeurys Familia, and Wilson Ramos in the hopes of getting the Mets back over the .500 mark.

If they are a much improved team, they might just be a team who can win anywhere. That would be a change of pace for the Mets as they have a winning record in just 14 ballparks. Can you name them? Good luck!

Trivia Friday: Best Outfielders In Mets History

Right now, Bryce Harper is a 26 year old free agent. He has already won an MVP, and he is just scratching the surface of what promises to be a Hall of Fame career. Players like him typically only hit the free agent market once a generation. If you look at his 30.7 career fWAR, he would already rank as the second best outfielder in Mets history?

Can you name the current Mets top 10 in career WAR? Good luck!

Trivia Friday: Best Catchers Since 2016

At the moment, Brodie Van Wagenen seems to be doing all he can do to upgrade the catching position. According to rumors, that includes trading someone from the group of Michael Conforto, Brandon Nimmo, or Amed Rosario in addition to big prospects like Ronny Mauricio and Mark Vientos.

You could argue this makes sense if you are getting the best catcher in baseball, but the question does have to be asked: Is this actually the best catcher in baseball? Well, try to name the top three in each category since 2016 and draw your own conclusions. Good luck!
