  1. What Baseball Offers says:

Bill Buckner was a wonderful moment.

I saw the Yankees come back in the late 1970s by grinding runs and when Ray Knight and Keven Mitchell first hit those singles to set up Mookie I was finally living the dream of a club that would do anything to score late in games.

Second nature to almost any year, any roster for the Yankees but for the Mets that grind mentality happens with a Met roster every ten years.

Again, last night innings 7-9 they could not, would not and refused to grind.

Is it about the commitment to hard work.

Santana and Piazza were weight room rats, the last to go home as they bulked up to succeed.

A meaningless game after 9-11, yes, Piazza brought us something cheerful, some distraction, yet an inflection point — to the day that start of our return to or the start of a new life routine in a different America.

    Everything about Piazza was positive.

Gary Carter had so much passion and enthusiasm in the dugout and now that is coming around and will grow from Todd Frazier.

I recommend to others to look at everything else but the results once in a while. Professional athletes can teach us much about reaching our own goals in life.
